A Smell of a Rose

Posted on: Friday, August 28, 2015

It's Friday.
So stop.
Take a Break.
And stare long enough at a painting until it begins makes sense.

Oh, and don't forget to wear something wonderful.

Preppin' for School Again

He said, "Above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you, because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it."

A new school year is sneaking up on summer--and though late nights and lazy days begrudgingly fade into homework and schedules, there is some sort of exhilaration in getting back to school. The new outfits, new school supplies, hoping for the right teachers and best classmates, so much anticipation and wonder surrounds that first day. And in this time, whether you are heading back to school or remembering those days, it's best to go into it believing in magic, and absorbing what's ahead with glittering eyes and willingness to learn.

And if the year doesn't shape up the way you hoped, there's always day dreaming to get you through. Happy Friday!

4: All green with envy from your friends' blankets? The tides have turned--though these blankets are green, you'll be feeling much better wrapped up in one of these wool wonders.

5: Shiny, stoic, vintage--this myrtle-wood lamp is just gorgeous. You'll be leaving the light on a little bit longer.

Before we open our doors for the week, check out our top six vintage picks. We constantly update our inventory, and we want to keep you in the loop of the new things coming in! So, without further adieu, we bring you:

1: We have a lot of purses, bags and sacks around the store, but this is THE Sak. This leather wonder doubles as backpack and purse, friend and wingman.

2: A wonderfully weathered rocker, rocking' out. Its smooth moves are just waiting for a porch and some friends to share its rhythm with.

3: Time to make a statement with your rings. We have one for almost every day of the week, whether it be eagle, owl, or ruby.

4: I love you, California. Let this life sized poster inspire your innate patriotism in our great state–and make that pesky empty wall a little more attractive.

5: Sheer jumper dress? Yes, please. This golden hour dress is waiting for its golden girl–is this your golden ticket?

6: Wicker fan chairs, at your service. And they are quite the pair these, too–a sight for sore eyes and weary legs.
