Combined with our love of junking, paired with the spirit of the road trip, we travel around the West Coast in our Airstream trailer. We scour flea markets, thrift stores, estate & yard sales to bring back lovelies to our vintage shop located in the quaint town of San Luis Obispo, California.

(we are located in the SloHo neighborhood on Walker Street between Pacific St. & Pismo St. - which intersects with Higuera Street, you can find us here.)
On Saturday, April 30th from 9 to 4, down a lovely country road in Nipomo, is this spring's Remnants of the Past vintage show. Surrounded by beauty and in the perfect location , The Dana-Powers House, this show is the "creme de la creme" in beautiful antiques and staging.
Now, we know it's not a party without an after party! And that's where we come in. Ruby Rose will be hosting this said "after party" the next day (Sunday, May 1st) from 10 to 5! We are proud to have Lisa Leonard Designs and the Sally Loo's Wholesome Hut join along in the fun during this event!
Ruby Rose will be open extended hours all weekend--Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 to 5.
We went to our fave flea market this past Sunday, The Alameda Point Antiques Faire. It takes place the first Sunday of every month. There was so much style and eye candy galore. As always, it is sooo overwhelming when we first arrive with the abundance of things on our mind--coffee, yummy croissants, smalls, furniture, and of course, which way to go, oh my!!
We all happened to be in L.A. the other weekend, and after a bit of texting, turns out we were all headed for the Rose Bowl. Hilary, Kathy and I arrived there around 9:30 (that's the latest I have ever started)! Somehow, I fell asleep in the Starbucks parking lot and lost out on some valuable shopping time.
Once in, the first thing we saw was a filming crew and so we thought we'd check out what they were filming. Turns out it was a segment on a new show with Ty Pennington. As I went to talk to Kathy, she was right up in the filming and was trying to outbid Ty on an item. Yep, that is the back of her checking out the inventory as Ty was trying to keep up.
The booth they were filming at belonged to one of our friends, Chris--he sells wonderful items from overseas.
After the hullabaloo all left (why does it take 15 people to shoot such a small segment?!), Chris noticed that his t-shirt was inside out (that's why he's our friend)! Never a dull moment at the flea!
