About a year ago we had the coolest family from the L.A. area come into the store and spend some time with us. The lovely and (hot) mama of three fell in love with a set of beautiful carriage doors. The papa, wasn't as much in love quite yet, he (voice of reason) thought that maybe they would sleep on it.
Before leaving the store, us gals, had a heart to heart with her. We knew that she had a little somethin' somethin' that could persuede him to fall in love with the doors as much as she had. She knew exactly what we were sayin' and said she was already on it!
The next day they came back into the store--no wait, I think she called--whatever, not so important how, but said that they wanted to buy the doors and would be back to pick them up with a truck soon (her magic worked!).
Flash forward 3 months, they walk in the door with their 3 darling lil ones and informed us that they turned out to be the most expensive doors they've ever purchased! She was 3 months pregnant!!
Thank you Jen for letting us share your story!

This look was taken from the spring In Style magazine. Again, perfect travel pieces.

Everyone knows that we love a good road trip!
The first question up is usually, "What to wear???"
This photo from the Nordstrom catalog made for perfect copycat material.
Kendra is wearing some great travel pieces--
military inspired jacket ($42),
black skirt (XS/$28),
vintage floral blouse ($28).

Ring ring, "Hello, this is Flea Market Style Magazine and we are road tripping from L.A. to Paso and photographing must-visit places on the way for a feature in our next issue. Would you be interested?"
Us: "Heck yeah!"
We were so thrilled to be included in the road trip adventure that this crew produced and we're so happy to see so many of our favorite places in the article as well. It is great company to be in!
Enjoy and pick up a copy of the magazine to read more on junking and decorating.
Check them out on Facebook too!

This copycat is from the Nordstrom spring catalog! Oh how this catalog made us squeal!! So fresh and classic good. Eva is sporting this super easy, super sassy outfit. The tank is priced at $22 and the lace skirt is $22 as well (size 6!).

This was another Free People catalog photo. I am especially partial to this one because Ruby agreed to model for us! She is usually behind the lens.
The dress is $58 (size 8), the sandals are $15 (we have a bucket of sizes/styles in right now!), and the necklace is $165--it has 17 vintage religious charms, all sizes and metals.

The yearly white elephant sale in Oakland-this sale benefits the Oakland Museum. They take donations for a year and then set it up for the annual sales. We get in during the pre-sale days and usually fill the trunk. To get in pre-sale you either need to volunteer or donate goods. This year we joined in with the Glitterfarm gals and Polly Jane and had so much fun that we needed to break out in dance!

This year has already been amazing! With new goals for the year, we have put road trips at the top of the priority list. We have logged some miles and have made some really fun memories. We've listed a few favorites below.
Alameda Flea-hands down favorite! Not only do they have everything you'd ever want or need, but they also have the best food trucks ever!!
The High Noon Western Show in Mesa Az.-we have some friends that are the rock stars of this show (my opinion as well as others). It happens once a year and is was so worth the trip if you love authentic western goods.
This is not a flea market and there are not deals, though the prices are in line to market value. This wasn't a trip for resale but rather for looking and learning. I did bring home some earrings and a pair of moccasin boots that I bought from Mary Emmerling (more on that later).
We also highjacked some tumbleweed that I had wanted to use for a display coming up. The mister wasn't thrilled but he played along!
On the way home, we drove through Joshua Tree, stayed nearby at the Roughley bed and breakfast in 29 Palms and hit some thrift stores nearby.
